Procedure for Rhinoplasty surgery / Nose job in India

The process of Rhinoplasty surgery includes:

1 . Anesthesia

Before the surgery begins, the patient is given general anesthesia to provide comfort throughout the surgery. 

2. The Incision

 There are two methods to perform rhinoplasty.

• Open Rhinoplasty

In the open rhinoplasty procedure, incisions are made across the columella, which helps the surgeon to lift and shape the nose structure. 

• Closed Rhinoplasty

In the closed rhinoplasty procedure, incisions are made inside the columella, which gives the surgeon access to the nose through the nostrils.

The type of rhinoplasty is selected based on the changes required.

3. Reshaping the nose structure

The nose structure is reshaped by modifying the alignment of bones and cartilage to give you a sharper and straighter nose. Occasionally in primary and mostly in re-do nose jobs, additional cartilage from ribs or ears is needed to provide support to the nose. 

4. Closing the incision

After completing the reshaping process, the surgeon closes the incision and applies a cast which is removed at 7-14 days depending on the changes performed.

Though the result of surgery is immediately visible on the removal of the cast, the final result can be appreciated only after 6 months to 1 year after surgery when all the swelling disappears.
