Being born to doctor parents Dr. C. J. Hemant Kumar, Cardiac Surgeon and Dr. Indrani Hemant Kumar, Anaesthetist, he was inspired to become a surgeon right from his childhood. After completion of Mbbs, his tryst with destiny began with General Surgery Residency at Hinduja Hospital, Mumbai. He was fortunate to work with doctors in the forefront of every medical speciality and cutting edge technology. He was inspired by plastic and aesthetic surgery during his long posting in the department. With two national paper presentations and over 15 posters in state conferences, He was awarded the Braun Medical Trust Foundation Scholarship Grant for outstanding achievement in General Surgery in 2012.
Dr. Sudhanva next joined MCh in Plastic Surgery at the prestigious JIPMER University at Pondicherry. It is one of the top three central institutes and among the largest medical institutions in our country with over 15 million people visiting the hospital every year. JIPMER Plastic Surgery is a highly ranked plastic surgery program in India, with access to all world class technology, instruments and lasers. He underwent rigorous training in all aspects of plastic surgery including cosmetic surgery, breast surgery, microvascular and reconstructive surgery, cleft and craniofacial surgery, hand surgery, trauma and burns. With the motive to help burn patients lead a stigma free life, he carried out research on the role of Nano fat grafting in burn scars. He believes everyone deserves to feel and be beautiful in offering the best treatments with great care, safety, respect and compassion.
