The PRP treatment is an office-based, out-patient procedure and takes approximately 1 hour. About 15- 60cc blood is withdrawn from your vein. It is centrifuged and processed in special test tubes to obtain platelet-rich plasma.
The area to be treated is cleansed and anaesthetised. Multiple tiny painless injections of PRP are given to your skin/scalp.
Do not wash, shower, or clean the treated area for 8-12 hours. Avoid activities that cause you to sweat. Avoid makeup or hair products, and do not expose yourself to the sun for a couple of days. Some amount of redness, swelling, and discomfort may be present for 24-48 hours. Pain killers may be given to avoid discomfort.
